Eikon passionately believes that prevention is better than cure, and our youth workers work in Surrey schools to support young people during their pivotal teenage years.
By providing advice and someone to turn to at the right time, Eikon helps young people stay on the right path at difficult times in their lives.
Never has our work been so relevant, or so important. In November Home Secretary, Theresa May launched the government’s response to the riots of August 2011.
"Very often there are lots of points in time at which, if someone had done something, that young person's life could have been changed”.
Eikon exists to help make that positive change.
My Dad left when I was little and my Mum had different boyfriends who used to hit her. One boyfriend beat her into a coma. Afterwards she started to drink a lot. It got so bad she spent 10 months in rehab so my sister had to look after me. I wasn't eating or sleeping much and got into a lot of trouble. My life was really rubbish. If it wasn't for Eikon I'd be in
prison, or worse.”
