TERMS & CONDITIONS:

1. Introduction
The 15 Peaks Challenge is a route that covers all 15 peaks in Northern Snowdonia that are over 3000ft in height. It will require a walk of some 30 miles and over 14,000ft of ascent and descent within 24hrs. It is a major physical challenge and should not be entered into lightly. Client safety is our first priority and therefore all participants must agree to accept the decisions and advice of the organisers and guides.

2. Fees
To secure the team's entry each person in the team is required to pay £100 per person as a non refundable deposit. Each individual is then required to raise a minimum of £300 in sponsorship by 31 August 2009. This covers all the costs of the event and makes a small donation to the charity. We encourage you to raise more than the minimum sponsorship as all the extra funds generated will be directed to the good work of the charity. Cheques should be made payable to 'The Eikon Charity.'

3. Cancellations
Where Eikon cancels the event, we will refund your payment in full. If you cancel your booking you will lose your deposit but will not be required to submit the minimum sponsorship after the event.

4. Activity Risk
We draw your attention to the fact that adventure pursuits in the mountains are activities with a risk of personal injury or death. Clients recognise and accept this risk when taking part in the Eikon 15 Peaks Challenge.

5. Participant Responsibilities
It is the responsibility of the participant to ensure they have prepared thoroughly for this event. It is a major physical undertaking and each participant takes responsibility for their:-
o training schedule
o having appropriate equipment for all weathers and terrain during the event
o mountain experience and knowledge
o navigation skills. This includes using a map and compass in poor visibility and weather conditions. This is essential for the two in the team who are assigned the role of team navigators.

6. Team leader responsibilities
Team leaders have the following additional responsibilities:
o Ensuring at least 2 members of their team can navigate with map and compass in poor visibility and weather conditions in the mountains.
o Ensuring their team members are prepared for the challenge in terms of fitness and mountain walking experience.
o Ensuring that each member of their team have completed an ascent of Crib Goch before the event. This is the part of the route with the most serious consequences of a fall and not a place to discover you don't like heights on a 24 hour challenge.

7. Organisers responsibilities
Eikon, in conjunction with Seren Ventures, will provide a guidebook to accompany the challenge, which sets out:
o The details and timings for the event weekend.
o Suggestions for a training schedule
o Suggestions for adequate equipment & clothing, which we believe are necessary to complete the challenge safely.
o Nutritional advice
o What you can expect from the 15 Peaks support team at the checkpoints
Seren Ventures will run two optional training weekends in preparation for the event. These weekends will include advanced navigation training for the team navigators. For participants with less mountain experience it will create an opportunity to walk the more challenging parts of the route. It will also help participants understand the levels of fitness required.

8. Insurance
Eikon and Seren Ventures carry full public liability insurance but we recommend you take out appropriate personal accident and cancellation insurance for the event. If you already have insurance, please check it covers you for the activities you will be undertaking. Please contact us if you require details of insurers.

9. Weather
The 15 Peaks Challenge is set in the mountains of Snowdonia, where the weather can determine if the event is safe to go ahead. Eikon has teamed up with Seren Ventures to organise this event and client safety is our first consideration. As a result there may be occasions where we have to call off the event due to the prevailing weather.

10. Children
No-one under the age of 18 may take part in the 15 Peaks Challenge.

11. Closing date for entry
The closing date for applications is 31st March 2009. We cannot guarantee accommodation for applications received after this date.
