Dragon Boat Race 2011 update
Despite the heavens opening, spirits weren’t to be dampened as 50 paddlers took to the Thames to support Eikon, by taking part in Kingston Rotary Club’s annual Dragon Boat Race. The day was a lot of fun and although no one walked away with gold, everyone put in a sterling effort and most importantly there were no capsizes!
At times we all sheltered under our three gazebos, and picnics were eaten in a huddle, but this simply added to the team-spirit that made the day so special. There are already plans afoot to get training for 2012. Thank-you to all those who gave up their Sunday to brave the elements and support Eikon, plus a big thank-you to the Rotary Club for their fantastic organisation.
