Being safe when you’re on the internet has never been so important. Eikon wants to make sure that all young people know the do’s and don’ts of staying safe online, and in 2011 ran a competition for students in Surrey to design a guide for this purpose. Entries were submitted from a number of Surrey schools. Miss Morgan, a teacher from Rodborough School said; “All Year 9 pupils spent time in assembly and tutor time discussing internet safety and the Eikon project. The competition was an excellent way to allow us to touch on such a contemporary and important issue”.
The winner of the competition is Heidi, a year 9 student from Fullbrook School in New Haw. Her winning guide is fantastically informative and available to download here. Eikon strongly encourages all parents/carers and young people to ensure that they have the guide in easy reach of their computer, so that everyone Stays Safe Online!
