This project is currently only being run for those children moving up to Fullbrook School.
For many young people the transfer from being at a small junior school to a large Secondary School can be a very scary process. Add to this that many young people have additional difficult situations to face, which may affect their ability to achieve their full potential. The Transition Project aims for Junior School's to identify young people whom they feel maybe potentially vulnerable on their transfer to Junior School. We run a six-week course following the completion of SATS for those who the school identifies. The course consists of interactive learning and thinking about issues, which the young people maybe faced with in their new school. The children that participate are then followed up and monitored through their first year in Secondary School. Both individual and group support is offered in conjunction with both the young person and the school. ![]() |
